About the design
WAVE 2 is a grace note with gravity, beginning with a measured fullness in the lower third that grounds the silhouette before the rhythm ascends. From that calm foundation, the waves rise in a slower, resonant cadence, and the entire form feels composed from the bass up. The expansion is deliberate rather than exuberant, giving the object an elemental stability while keeping the surface alive with movement. Highlights travel further across each rib, shadows gather with more generosity, and the piece speaks in a deeper register—warm, assured, and quietly authoritative.
Here, mass and motion are held in exact equilibrium. The broader belly widens the canvas for light, allowing gradients to stretch and blend like tonal washes, while the vertical ribbing keeps the composition crisp and legible. Proportion does the heaviest lifting: a few millimetres of breadth alter the character profoundly, transforming a refined gesture into a confident statement without tipping into excess. The result is a silhouette that feels inevitable—as if it always meant to take up precisely this amount of space.
Choosing this profile is choosing assurance. It appeals to an eye that trusts calm structure over spectacle, that values depth over dazzle, and that recognises quiet confidence when it sees it. The piece communicates steadiness—the sense that the room has a centre and that everything else can arrange itself around it. It is architecture in miniature: grounded, gracious, and enduringly composed.
